Michal Haskel-Ittah is a senior scientist at the Weizmann Institute of Science. Her research focuses on causal understanding and mechanistic reasoning in the context of teaching and learning biology.

Jelle Boeve-de Pauw is an associate professor of biology education at the Freudenthal Institute (Utrecht University, the Netherlands). His research focusses mainly on teaching and learning in Education for Sustainable Development, specifically on issues of measurement and evaluation.
